S-Zone

The S-Zone is located on the second floor of the University Library. It is a multifunctional study space that combines the feel of your own living room with that of your favourite café. It has two main areas.

The conference area is mainly used for events organised by the Library or the University of Ostrava. Its capacity is up to 24 people, and presentation equipment is available. If you are interested in holding an event here, please fill in the form and let us know in advance, as events should not disrupt the Library’s regular operation. A list of events taking place in the conference area can be found in the calendar.

The relaxation area is designed to feel like a living room. It is ideal for studying, meeting up with others, or simply relaxing. It also includes the so-called “Kostka” – a small, separate study nook. The relaxation area cannot be reserved.

The S-Zone also offers a small kitchenette where you can make tea or coffee and enjoy a warm drink, just like at home. If you need to connect your laptop to Wi-Fi, please use the eduroam network.
