Located on the 2nd floor of the P building (Podlahova 3, Ostrava – Mariánské Hory), the study room of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music provides a comfortable environment for learning. It offers a broad selection of specialized literature and additional resources to support your academic journey.

What are the services available in the study room?

Books and magazines

  • Access a collection of over 1,500 documents focusing on the disciplines taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Materials can be studied onsite or borrowed overnight or for a weekend.
  • Need more resources? The University Library has a total collection of over 290,000 printed documents. Search and order the title you need through the online catalogue. Borrowed documents can be collected at the University Library's lending desk. You can also return these documents in the study room.
  • As students/employees of the University of Ostrava you can enjoy access to a wide range of e-resources, including databases, e-books and e-journals.
  • We recommend using the ProQuest EBook Central online library, which provides access to thousands of e-books across various fields.

Computers, scanning, printing

  • The study room is equipped with computers featuring MS Office. Tools like Citace PRO (for creating quotations) and Writefull (for advanced English proofreading) are also available.
  • Connect your personal device to the internet using the Eduroam network.
  • To scan documents, you can use the scanner on the selected computer. Scanning is free of charge.
  • Black-and-white printing and copying services are available for a fee.
